Material Calculator Suite

Free, instant estimates for paint litres, cement bags, AAC blocks, TMT steel weight and Dr. Fixit waterproofing. Built for Chennai contractors, with live prices from our catalogue and one-tap WhatsApp quotes.

Why use the Suppliable Material Calculator?

Construction in Chennai runs on tight site timelines and even tighter material budgets. Over-ordering wastes 10–15% of your project budget on materials that go to weather damage, theft or end up unused. Under-ordering is worse — half a day of mason labour sits idle while someone runs to fetch one missing bag of cement. The Suppliable Material Calculator exists so contractors, builders, architects and homeowners can plan exact quantities before placing an order, and then convert that estimate into a confirmed delivery in 60 minutes via our app or WhatsApp.

Every calculator on this page returns three things instantly:

  1. Material quantity — in the unit the supplier sells in (cement bags, AAC blocks, TMT rods, paint litres, waterproofing kits).
  2. Live cost estimate — pulled from the Suppliable catalogue API (UltraTech, Ramco, Dalmia, JSW, Asian Paints, Birla Opus, Finolex, Ashirvad, ARS, Tata, Anchor, Polycab, Dr. Fixit and 25+ trusted Indian brands).
  3. One-tap actions — get a bulk quote (form), WhatsApp the estimate directly to our team, or open the Suppliable app on the Play Store to order.

Paint Calculator — Asian Paints Tractor & Ace

The Paint Calculator uses two Asian Paints workhorse SKUs that cover 90% of Chennai residential paint jobs. Asian Paints Tractor Emulsion is the value interior choice at roughly 140 sqft per litre per coat; it's the right pick for most bedrooms, kitchens and ceilings. Asian Paints Ace Exterior Emulsion is the 4-year-warranty exterior product at roughly 110 sqft per litre per coat — water-resistant, anti-algal, made for the Chennai monsoon-and-sun cycle. Enter wall length, height and number of walls; pick the coats (2 is standard); the calculator returns litres needed, an optimal pack-size combination (1L + 4L + 10L + 20L buckets), and the total cost using live per-litre pricing from our catalogue.

AAC Block Calculator

The AAC Block Calculator handles the four standard AAC sizes used in India — 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch and 9-inch (600 × 200 × varying mm). It computes blocks per square foot of wall, multiplies by 1 + your wastage allowance (5% standard, 8% for complex walls, 10% for sites with lots of cuts), and rounds up to whole blocks. It also estimates thin-bed adhesive (Ramco Block Fix or equivalent) at roughly 0.4 kg per 6-inch block scaled by thickness — and totals 40 kg bags needed. Both block and adhesive prices come live from our catalogue (Reenacon and Ekocon for blocks; Ramco for adhesive). Reminder: never use cement-sand mortar with AAC — it kills the thermal performance and reduces bond strength by 40–50%.

Cement Calculator — Plastering, Columns & Roof Slabs

The Cement Calculator has three tabs, each tuned to the typical site task:

  • Plastering — pick a thickness preset (6 mm for ceiling finish, 12 mm for internal walls, 15 mm for external walls, 20 mm for rough masonry correction) or enter your own. Choose a mortar ratio (1:4 strong external, 1:5 standard internal, 1:6 general). Returns cement bags + sand in cft.
  • Column concrete — number of columns × width × depth × height. Pick M20, M25 or M30 mix grade. Returns concrete volume in m³, cement bags, sand and 20mm aggregate quantities.
  • Roof slab — length × width × thickness for a flat RCC slab. Same outputs by grade.

All calculations use the 1.54 dry-volume factor for concrete and 1.27 for mortar, then convert cement m³ to 50 kg bags at the standard 1440 kg/m³ cement density. Concrete grade ratios used: M20 (1:1.5:3), M25 (1:1:2), M30 (1:0.75:1.5).

TMT Steel Weight Calculator

The Steel Calculator is the only one we've built with a multi-row BOM table — because every real construction order has multiple diameters. Add a row, pick a diameter (6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 16 / 20 / 25 / 32 mm), enter the number of rods and the length per rod (default 12 metres — the standard TMT length in India). The calculator computes weight per row using the industry formula weight per metre = D² ÷ 162, sums everything, and converts to tonnes. Multiply by your per-kg price (Suppliable's Chennai market price is shown live for ARS, Tata, ISteel and Arun TMT). One thing to flag: most TMT brands require a 500 kg minimum per diameter for delivery — so combine sizes if your total is under that.

Dr. Fixit Waterproofing Calculator

The Dr. Fixit Waterproofing Calculator has 5 tabs, each matched to a specific Dr. Fixit (Pidilite) product using their official coverage rates:

  • Terrace → Dr. Fixit Newcoat — acrylic coating, 22 sqft/L per coat, 2 coats. 20 L bucket pricing.
  • Bathroom → Dr. Fixit Bathseal — cementitious, 6.5 sqft/kg (2 coats including 1 ft wall coat). 5 kg pack pricing.
  • Water tank → Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K — 2-component, 1.5 kg/m² for 2 coats. One 15 kg kit covers ~108 sqft of inside tank surface.
  • External wall → Dr. Fixit Raincoat — elastomeric, 86 sqft/L per coat (8 sqm/L official spec).
  • Integral RCC dose → Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ — 200 ml per 50 kg cement bag. Pack sizes 1 L / 5 L / 10 L / 20 L.

Built for Chennai contractors

All five calculators assume Indian construction conventions — measurements in feet for wall sizes (mm for block thickness and steel diameter, metres for steel length), prices in Indian Rupees, units that contractors actually order in (bags, cft, blocks, rods). The cost figures use Chennai 2026 market prices pulled from the live Suppliable catalogue. We deliver everything you calculate to your construction site in 60 minutes across Sholinganallur, OMR, ECR, Velachery, Adyar, Pallavaram, Tambaram and surrounding South Chennai areas.
